News

Nathan was honorably discharged from the Army, in April of 2004. He's
now living near Sandestin Florida and is a bartender at "Rum Runners" in Sandestin Resort.
Nathan has been enjoying life and living life to the
fullest! He loves being in Florida and tells folks that he lives in
paradise!

Nathan has recently returned, safe and sound, to US soil and is currently stationed back at Fort Campbell in
Kentucky. He was able to return due to having bouts of uncontrollable asthma, caused by the intense
sand storms in Iraq and Kuwait. He was deemed to be in unreasonable danger, because he was unable to wear
a gas mask, and effectively perform his duties. It is possible that Nathan will soon receive an honorable
discharge, with disabled status.
It is with deepest humility and gratitude that I thank you for your selfless gifts of kindness, prayer,
positive thought, and all manner of caring support. I truly believe that our positive energies, sent outward,
have brought Nathan home and out of harm's way.
Nathan knows of your kindnesses, and he is truly grateful.
We have the hope that you would please continue sending these gifts of love out to those who remain in the
Gulf region. May our people in service return home soon.
May Peace Reign.
Nathan was recently deployed to the Gulf Region. I believe he is now in Iraq,
moving as a part of the 101st, and in unison with the whole of US military
forces to liberate the Iraqi people from the current oppressive
regime. Please remember him, and all of our men and women in service, in your prayers
and devotions.

I received a call from Nathan this morning! Well, I was sleeping (may I
never sleep again) and so he left a message on the machine. It was very
good to hear Nathan's voice and to know that he's doing well and is safe. He
directed me to http://armytimes.com
where I found a photo of him and the rest of his Mortar Plt.. Here's a
link to the photo.

In my latest communication with Nathan, he told me that, for
the last two weeks, he and his unit have been engaged in combat with Taliban
forces in the hills of Afghanistan. Nathan said, for the next week or
so, our forces there will continue to engage Taliban and will remove them from
opposition.
My sister Bonnie, her son Chris, and I were very fortunate to be
able to visit with Nathan, 2 days before his deployment to Afghanistan. Below are some of
our photo memories of the visit.
