Pía Matozzi was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She studied drawing and painting with Marisa Varela in Buenos Aires from 1978 to 1986, and Graphic Design at the Escuela Panamericana de Arte from 1983 to 1986. Her art has been displayed in seven exhibitions in Argentina, and has also been exhibited in Spain and England. For the last ten years, she has been living in Birmingham, U.K.

Pía's tutor, Marisa Varela, gave her unconditional support, encouragement and guidance to find her own style. During that period, she tried different techniques and experimented in the search for her own images. Colour is, and has always been, an area that fascinated her. In her work, Pía tries to suggest a special feeling of peace, tranquillity and enjoyment. It is an invitation to an imaginary world beyond time and space.

Pía has been a YES fan for 26 years, and states that in recent years she has been listening to YES more than ever. She blames her friends, "The Yes Brothers," for their influence. The music of YES has always been an important source of inspiration that helps free her imagination. "Listening to YES is like going on a magical journey through the emotions. I have also been inspired by the work of Roger Dean and I admire his technique and the way he creates imaginative and mysterious worlds," said Pía.
